On 23rd September the Friends took part in the annual Doors Open Day event for the first time.  This national initiative organised by the Scottish Civic Trust allows free public entry to buildings of interest which are not normally open or where there is usually a charge.  21 buildings were open across Moray and throughout the day there were a total of 1,911 visitors to the venues.

The unremarkable exterior to the store building situated at the end of the Leys Road car park hides a fascinating interior where much of the hard work to collect and conserve items for the nearby Falconer Museum is undertaken.

The Friends offered museum store tours and hands on activities which proved to be very popular with excellent feedback received.
